Maya De Sota

Maya De Sota grew up in Long Beach, California attending Millikan High School as a Varsity player all 4 years. Freshman year she was named to Moore League’s All-League Second Team, her following three years being named to All-League First Team. She was also named Best Offensive Player her final 3 years, as well as MVP her senior year, and named to Press Telegram’s Dream team her Junior and Senior years. 

 

Following Millikan, Maya accepted a full-ride scholarship to Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. There, she played 3 years as the starting short stop. Her sophomore year she took on more of a managerial role as she was battling health issues, but found ways to help the team wherever she could. Despite Covid interrupting her freshman year, she was named to 1st League All District as well as being named player and/or hitter of the week many times throughout her career. 

 

Throughout her college years, Maya volunteered at the MLB Youth Academy in Compton, until 2022 when she joined the staff. She also worked at Diane Lewis School of Softball from 2017-2022. Following graduation, she joined the Wrecking Yard Crew.
